However, I use lenses that do not need such correction. But I doubt if any one would be satisfied to do this all the time. This then results in DNG files being produced with the corrections already applied, not just stored as profile parameters. If your lenses need correction through their profiles, this software may not work for you unless you put your RAW files through the Adobe DNG Converter first and choose Change Preferences, Compatability and in Custom set to DNG 1.1 Linear demosaiced first. I have tried quite a few such programs and this is easily the best. I thought I'd mention it as by now i think Machinery HDR Effects ought to be considered one of the very top products of its type and everybody into serious photography know about it. It is also very easy to use and to buy it will set you back so little, it is not worth worrying about. But even for single frames, I find that Machinery HDR Effects gives excellent tonal gradation. Do yourself a favour and give this a try.īefore I say more, let me point out that I am an amateur photographer and the views expressed here are intended only to bring to your attention a product that you ought to try if you shoot RAW and especially if you bracket exposures for HDR. ![]()
